Places to Explore in Spring
A unique Great Lakes marsh is the centerpiece of this 86-acre park along the Galien River. Elevated walkways provide an up-close look at the rich flora and fauna, and a 60-foot tower offers majestic views and a thrilling sway. Fishing is allowed, and all walkways are ADA-accessible.
Largest of five Michigan wine regions, the Lake Michigan Shore AVA consists of 21 wineries nestled among scenic farms and orchards. Offering beautiful views, unique experiences, and a surprising range of wines (depending upon the last time you checked), tasting on the trail is one of our most popular afternoon adventures.
A National Natural Landmark, Warren Woods’ 3.5 miles of trails guide hikers through a rare climax forest and sleepy river floodplain. Featuring silvery smooth beech maple as tall as 125’ and up to 5’ in diameter, this is one of our most stately and hushed hiking spots.
Drink like a local and discover all the distinctive flavors of Harbor Country. Sip a cocktail made with artisan spirits at our local distillery, toast the good times with a pint of Michigan craft beer or follow the wine trail to relaxation and beyond.
